Approximately three years ago, Tea Party events started popping up all across the nation. As we reflect on that time in our nation’s history, we vividly remember the scene. In January, President Obama stood on the steps on the U.S. Capitol for his inauguration, after his election on “hope and change.” Then, on February 13, 2009, we saw one of the biggest pieces of spending pass: President Obama’s economic “stimulus,” which cost taxpayers over a trillion dollars. We were seeing “change,” but “hope” of economic recovery was slipping through our fingers.
